Horse races were held in Turkmenistan in honor of the Turkmen Horse Festival.
Long-distance equestrian endurance competitions were held in the Ak Bugday district of Turkmenistan's Ahal province to celebrate the National Turkmen Horse Day, according to the Turkmenistan newspaper. Fifteen Akhal-Teke horses aged 6 to 11 years and their riders took part in the competition. The 60-kilometer race began at kilometer 24 of the Ashgabat-Mary highway. Participants included horses from the Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, the National Equestrian Center, the Aba Annayev International Equestrian Academy, and private horse breeders.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his visit to the United States, visited the equestrian complex La Victoria, which is considered one of the largest in the country, and discussed the prospects of Turkmen-American cooperation in the field of horse breeding and equestrian sports. In Turkmenistan, the organizing committee for horse-breeding and equestrian events was established
The President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree, according to which the Organizational Committee was created to hold high-level horse breeding and equestrian events in 2026, held in the country under the motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan - Homeland of Celestial Winged Jumpers". The composition of the Organizing Committee was also approved by the document, reports TDH. The resolution was signed during the extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 13 , devoted to the results of 2025.
