On October 26, 2025, the holiday of the Turkmen Alabai was widely celebrated in the country. The main festivities on the occasion of the holiday were held in the open arena of the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex. The international competition “Turkmen Brave Alabai of the Year” and the creative competition for the artistic representation of Alabai in works of applied and decorative art were concluded here. A festive atmosphere was created in the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex. An exhibition of national applied and decorative, fine art works, photographs, folk crafts, prints, carpets, and sculpture from all regions of the country, as well as the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, was arranged along the road to the open arena of the complex. The culmination of the international competition “Turkmen Brave Alabai of the Year” and the creative exhibition dedicated to the Turkmen Alabai became one of the memorable events of the festive celebrations in honor of a faithful friend of man. 10 of the best Alabais from different regions of the country, selected during the preliminary stages of the competition, were released into the arena of the open arena of the complex. The names of the Alabais, their age, pedigree, and information about the owner are announced to the jury and the audience. Then the Alabais participating in the competition gave a demonstration performance. They showed the audience the skills taught by their owners. Numerous Alabai fans appreciated their excellent appearance and agility. They were set specific tasks, including overcoming obstacle courses. When overcoming obstacles, speed and accuracy indicators are taken into account. These competitive events added a special touch to the festivities. The time has come to sum up the results of the competition and announce the decision of the jury. The floor was given to the head of the jury, Hero of Turkmenistan S. Babayev. On behalf of those present, he expressed sincere gratitude to our Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for their great work in developing the art of dog breeding in our country and popularizing Alabais, which are an integral part of the historical and cultural heritage of our people. Thus, the title of “Turkmen Brave Alabai of the Year” was awarded to the Turkmen Alabai named Vepaly, belonging to the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan. He was bred and trained by the Honored Dog Breeder of Turkmenistan O. Saparov. The winner of the international competition was awarded the Grand Prize of the President of Turkmenistan - the keys to a Toyota Camry V6 passenger car, and was also awarded a special medal, a portable cup, and a diploma. The dog breeder expressed his sincere gratitude to the Honorable President for the valuable gift and the wide opportunities created by our state to preserve the breed purity of Alabai. He assured that Turkmen dog breeders would continue their work in this area with dignity, and wished the Honorable President good health and great success in his work.
