Resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on declaring 2026 the year of "Independent, Eternally Neutral Turkmenistan - the Homeland of the Brave Horse-Myrad"

The Year of International Peace and Confidence, declared at the initiative of the deeply respected President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedow, was one of the most historically significant years for our country. The wide celebration of the remarkable 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality provided an opportunity to present our country's great successes and achievements to the world community.

Our united people, who follow the principles of our National Leader, Heroic Arkadag, “The state is for the people!” and our Honorable President, Heroic Serdar Arkadagly, “A homeland is a homeland only with its people! A state is a state only with its people!”, live a peaceful and prosperous life today. During the new era of the Revival of a sovereign state, our country is confidently advancing along the white path of development.

Our deeply respected President, relying on the unique traditions and humanistic principles that form the basis of the national character of the Turkmen people and come from the depths of centuries, makes great efforts for the unity and stability of society and the peaceful development of the country.

As a result of the consistent implementation of large-scale reforms over the years of independence, the work of all sectors of the country has been improved based on the experience of developed countries of the world, and a unique modern Turkmen model of the national economy has been formed.

The coming year is the year of the horse according to the Eastern calendar. Our horses are the national pride of our people, a valuable asset, a symbol of our great progress. As the saying goes, “A horse is a heritage,” the new year will bring our happy people to their goals and aspirations. The year 2026 is of particular importance for the Turkmen people. This year, our beloved Motherland will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its sacred independence. In the centuries-old history of the Turkmen people and on the path of independent development, the horse occupies a special place as a reliable and trustworthy companion of our nation.

The Akhal-Teke horse, distinguished by its inherent strength, agility, beauty, and intelligence over many centuries, is today the adornment of the State Emblem of Turkmenistan and a symbol of the progress of our independent, eternally neutral Motherland.

In order to further glorify the independence and sovereignty of Turkmenistan, to celebrate the great achievements in politics, economics, and culture achieved during the years of independence, the successes achieved in ensuring a happy life for our people, the amazing revival of our sovereign Motherland, which is confidently advancing towards the heights of development with a galloping horse, and the great victories it is gaining in all areas, to further exalt the glory of the Akhal-Teke horses, which are an invaluable asset not only to the Turkmen people, but also to all mankind, to enhance the glory and international prestige of our beloved Motherland, to educate the younger generation in the spirit of boundless pride, love, and respect for Independent, Eternally Neutral Turkmenistan and our national heritage, to worthily celebrate the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence, to propagate the significance of the great, galloping horse-like developments and historical reforms being implemented, and also taking into account the proposals received from people's representatives, large public associations, labor groups, and citizens of the country, the Mejlis of Turkmenistan decides to name the year 2026:

The year 2026  should be declared the year of "Independent, Eternally Neutral Turkmenistan - the Homeland of the Brave Horse-Murad."
